Is Tech Making Robot Vacuum And Mop Better Or Worse?
Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable, acing our tests for cleaning and taking on different types of floors. Choose models that permit users to select between different modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
Many of the top models are compatible with smartphones. Find an app that lets you save maps, schedules, and select cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuums and mop combinations on the market. It uses lidar to navigate, and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels) and integrates with the free Eufy Clean app that lets you set schedules and customize the S1's behavior.
When I tried the S1 It was quick to locate our downstairs, which is home to Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even across thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty navigating down the stairs in one step. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. The mop sped along on its flat side and swung up when it reached carpets or rug.
The docking station on the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and replenishes its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated waters prior to every mopping session. The dock also provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1's tank of water holds enough water for about 12 cleaning sessions before it needs to be emptied, though this can vary based the amount you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to keep it working efficiently. For this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. It is also necessary to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
This all-in-one robotic mop and vacuum combo from Ecovacs is a great choice for cleaning needs. The robot vacuum is rated at 8700Pa of suction and comes with numerous innovative features, such as full home mapping, voice control and smart path-planning to avoid obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping feature is remarkable, with mops rotating that actually lift and scrub the floor rather than simply drag the pad across it. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station when needed.

The robot is simple to setup and use, and has a clear interface that walks you through the process. It also comes with a hand-vacuum which can be utilized to clean those difficult to reach areas that the robot can't reach. There are also two water tanks that can be automatically filled or empty. It comes with a variety of useful settings that allow you to fine tune your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does a good job at vacuuming, and has a powerful suction that effortlessly picks up most debris and even the tiny dust particles that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty solid as well, though it does sometimes get hung up on the tiny area mats or rugs that I have in my home (which is something you can reduce by creating a virtual boundary within the application). The mopping feature is pretty impressive, and comes with two spinning mop heads that actually lift and scrub floors instead of just dragging the pad over it. The mops are also cleaned with hot water and dried in the base station whenever required. The mops are also filled from the top of the base station when required.
3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. But their latest flagship model has even more impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results and is easy to maintain. This makes it a top contender on our top list of mops and robot vacuums. Its superior mapping abilities, RGB AI smart detection and an extended side brush will ensure an effective, customized cleaning is achieved.
The X40 Ultra vacuums well, getting rid of both large and fine debris. It works equally well on hard floors and carpets. It also cleaned our test's dirtiest areas well, eliminating pet hairs that are tangled and other messes. The sweeping power is enhanced by an additional side brush that automatically moves out to tackle difficult-to-reach corners, and an extending mop pad that can be placed alongside baseboards.
Its navigation is smart it can navigate tight spaces and climbing stairs without missing a beat. It can easily move from one room to another without reversing direction, which is a handy feature for homes with many rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than some competitors however, and tends to leave a large distance around obstacles, which can result in missed spots.
The interface of the app is simple and streamlined. It should be easy to use for both novices and experienced users. The app lets you plan and manage cleanings, adjust the suction power and mopping settings and view 3D and 2D maps, and much more. It can be controlled through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri and allows you to keep an eye on its progress from anywhere. You can even tap into the X40 Ultra's camera remotely for live video surveillance. However, you will require a reliable internet connection to use it via the app and external controls.
4. Roomba Q5 Pro
A robot vacuum can do a fantastic job of picking up dirt and debris, but it can't always get every last piece of dust. It's important to vacuum often, at least once a week. This is especially important for dust that builds up in corners, on shelves, and in the crevices of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro, a 2-in-1 robot that both vacuums and mop, is made to accomplish this. best robot vacuum cleaner is simple to connect it to your home WiFI network and it works with Alexa or Apple Siri.
The Q5 is a stripped-down version of the more expensive S-series models from the company, which includes the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 maxV ultra. It is equipped with the same LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on price by eliminating the mopping functionality and by using a lower-cost plastic body.
The Q5 remains one of the most powerful vacuums and mopping robots we've ever seen in this price range, even though it's not equipped to clean your floor. It features a powerful suction of 5500Pa and an auto-empty system so you don't have to empty the bin manually every time. It also has a clever app that lets you set the type of floor and schedule cleanings, as well as an automatic water tank refill and wash system for hands-free operation.
Its mops are also impressive, with a 2700Pa power that can tackle dirt and pet hair on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 is one of the few robots we tested that didn't show any issues with high-pile carpets or area rug, but it was unable to remove kitty litter or cable tangles that's not a surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is one of the quietest robovacs we've tested. It also utilizes a unique system to map your home, which allows it to get into places that other vacuums can't reach. This device also stores dust in a bigger dustbin which means you have to empty it less often. Furthermore, it comes with washable filters that further lower the expenses associated with using the device. This robot can detect carpets, and increase suction if needed. You can also mark areas you want to be able to keep from using the app.
